NHS and Private Dentist Glasgow

In these modern days, a nice smile is extremely important. Whether
you have a sales or professional job or any regular job, people now
judge others based on their smile. Nobody is going to tell you that
you have a beautiful smile if you smile at them with crooked and
yellow teeth. With Dentist Glasgow, http://www.1smile.co.uk/, you can quickly and affordably
get a great white smile in no time at all.

There are many other reasons that correcting your teeth are important
as well. Crooked teeth can often cause crevices that make it easy for
plaque to hide which can cause fast decay of your teeth. Teeth can
also overlap and cause painful positions of your teeth. Bacterial
infections can also occur sometimes when teeth are not straight like
they should be. Some incorrect positions of teeth have also been
known to interfere with your bite and alter your jaws function.

By visiting Dentist Glasgow, you can correct the position of your
teeth with the Six Month Smiles program and get them as white as
possible in an average of six months for a low price. This treatment
is just as effective as getting braces or using Invisalign. The
dentist will take initial photos and x-rays and will determine the
appropriate treatment for your needs and will get started as soon as
possible. If you can not afford to pay at the beginning of treatment,
there are financing options that you may qualify for as well.

The Benefits of Dental Veneers

Whether you’ve had an accident that has chipped some of your teeth, or if you have teeth that are damaged or discolored for any other reason, dental veneers are an excellent solution. Veneers are sturdy caps that are bonded to the surface of your existing teeth in order to repair and correct the appearance. While dental veneers are most commonly applied for cosmetic purposes, they can be needed in order to restore the function of a damaged tooth.

Reasons People Choose Dental Veneers

There are plenty of dental problems that can be corrected using veneers, and most are aesthetic. The most common ways dental veneers are used to improve the state of the teeth are:

Whitening – Veneers are made from materials that are resistant to stains, and can be made to match the natural white shade that you desire. Many people choose to have porcelain dental veneers bonded to a tooth, or section of teeth, that has become discolored and/or teeth that will not respond to whitening treatments due to past dental procedures.

Alignment – Dental veneers can actually be used to visually correct minor alignment issues. If you have teeth that are slightly misaligned, but you do not want to go through the trouble to wearing braces for years, dental veneers can be applied to the front of the teeth in order to create the shape that you would like.

Restoration – If you have undergone dental work for cavities or gum disease, your teeth may have lost their strong and healthy natural appearance in the process. Durable and natural-looking veneers can be bonded to the surface in order to restore the look and function of the tooth.

What to Expect from a Composite Dental Veneer Procedure

There are two different types of veneers available: composite and porcelain. Composite veneers refer to a thin coating that is applied to the surface of the tooth. This option requires little to no filing down of the existing tooth, and can be applied during one appointment. Composite veneers are generally much less expensive than porcelain veneers, but need to be replaced approximately every five to seven years.  As a downtown Toronto dentist with a long standing Toronto cosmetic dentistry office we present our clients with the pros and cons of both options in the treatment planning process.

Having Porcelain Veneers Applied to Your Teeth

Porcelain veneers are a sturdier and more natural-looking alternative. The bonding process for this type of veneer is slightly more involved. The dentist will first fit you for veneers by taking x-rays of your teeth. Approximately a half a millimeter of your tooth enamel will be trimmed away to make room for the veneer. A mold will be made of your teeth in order to prepare the veneers, which generally takes one to two weeks. Once the veneers are ready, they are bonded to the teeth. Porcelain veneers generally last ten to fifteen years, but have been known to last much longer.

Maintaining Good Oral Hygiene

Veneers may be protective coverings that are placed over your teeth, but this does not mean that you can neglect your oral hygiene. In order to keep your teeth healthy, and your veneers in good condition, it is still important to brush and floss regularly, and visit your dentist twice a year for professional cleanings.

Why Having a Family Dentist is Important

Everybody looks better with a nice pearly white smile which is why finding a good family dentist is very important for you and your family members.  Family dentistry is the way to go when you have a family because they are familiar with your past dentistry problems and repairs and have all records at their office rather than having to transfer them to other clinics.  Family dentists are also more likely to accommodate your family when a dental emergency occurs.

It’s important to visit your family dentist regularly.  Check-ups are important because they can clean your teeth as well as detect and prevent dental problems like gum disease or oral cancer before they get worse.  These problems can end up costing your family a fortune if not taken care of in the early stages.  Most family dentist accept most insurance plans and many even offer payment plans for your family. Some family dentists also offer discounts for treatment of your whole family.  They are also familiar with most procedures such as dental fillings, root canals, tooth extractions, crowns, teeth whitening, bridges and oral infections.  Make sure that your family has the best oral health possible by finding a great family dentist that can affordably treat you and all members of your family while saving you money!
